North East Scotland College

North East Scotland College is a college based in Aberdeen and were looking to promote their upcoming Open Days.

Category: Education

Format used: Bus shelters

Key result: Increase in applications and web traffic

Client Objectives

North East Scotland College serve a 60 mile radius from the main city of Aberdeen, and with one of their main campuses in Fraserburgh, their objective was to cover key commuter towns and villages.

The Campaign

“Being a regional college, we are challenged geographically to reach our full audience and stakeholder groups (approximately 500,000 people). The sites Clear Channel Direct offered allowed us to have a strong presence on the main arterial roads in the region and also in the main population centres at shopping areas, supermarkets and high streets. The process was aided by an interactive map of available sites which our Account Manager talked through with us – that helped take the guesswork out of site selection!”

The Results

“The outdoor campaign was part of our ‘Choose College, Choose NESCol’ integrated marketing campaign across all media. We are confident this has been effective in attracting high levels of applications for our full-time courses and also contributed to a 20% increase in web traffic compared to the same time period last year.

Outdoor media is now an established platform for the college and we are looking forward to using it again for our next Open Day campaign!”

Ian’s Top Tip

“Keep the message simple, integrate with other media and go bold!”

Thanks to Ian McDougall, Design, Publicity & Advertising Manager of North East Scotland College, for this case study.
